Rear seats or back seats in most sit and stand strollers can be easily removed. These back seats can be removed from the stroller to allow the stroller to convert to the standing option and suits a toddler. The rear seat is a great option for parents who want to have the choice of whether their toddler will sit or stand. Some sit and stand strollers only have one seat for the smaller child and then the sit/stand platform for the older child.
Purchasing a stroller with the option of two actual stroller seats may be more suitable to some families. Although most of these strollers have a standing platform and a small sitting platform for the older child it may be more suitable for an actual stroller seat for the second child. With the rear seat, that is stroller style, the older child can be placed in the rear seat and be just as safe as the child in the front seat. This may also ease the mind of parents who are worried about the safety of the child sitting on a seating platform of a regular sit and stand stroller.
The back seat also has the option to be removed. Removing the rear seat will convert the stroller into a regular sit and stand stroller. There is still a standing and sitting platform that the older child will be able to use. Overall, choosing a sit and stand stroller with an actual back seat is a feasible option for children who may tire quickly. The sear will comfortably sit the older child and cause no discomfort for the child in the front seat of the stroller.
